Only The Old

You're twenty one now And cynical, If they don't want to hear it They can turn it off If they wanna They can leave it on You've come of age now So wheres it gone If they think your lifes rosy They haven't a clue Twenty ones not always fun I take comfort my basic needs are here I know I should feel grateful But I still shed a tear I'm so busy looking for the future Where is today? Only the old can afford to be young Only the old can afford to be young Yeah times are changing, The young get older everyday The twenties are searching More than the teens that were looking yesterday Career competion Tough days there premonition If they don't reach it They don't know what they'll do They have to reach it just see it through They take comfort that there basic needs are here They know they should be grateful But they still shed a tear They're so busy concentrating on he future Where is today? Only the old can afford to be young Only the old can afford to be young Only, only the old can afford to be young.
